This is how we fell in love at the Brent Forever Tour.

The Brent Forever tour wrapped up their third night in New York City on November 26 at the Brooklyn Paramount with an unforgettable performance.

The Brent Forever tour is a collaborative tour between superstars Jeremy Zucker and Chelsea Cutler. The duo has released a total of two EPs and recently released their first album, “Brent iii.” Jeremy and Chelsea have been releasing music together since 2019, dropping the original Brent EP. The pair have had quite success with their collaborations, gaining a double-platinum record for their single “you were good to me,” alongside multiple gold-certified tracks!

After a long wait in the queue outside of the venue, I was welcomed into the beautiful Brooklyn Paramount, an absolutely gorgeous venue that fit the vibe of the Brent Forever tour perfectly, with beautiful statues and architecture filling the walls. I quickly made my way to my seat and prepared myself for the opening act, Jake Minch.

Jake Minch had taken the stage with nothing but an acoustic guitar in hand. I had only briefly listened to Jake’s music prior to the show but had quickly grown to love his music. Opening his set with his song, “strip mall”, he immediately captivated the audience. Jake’s work is something so simple yet perfect, sharing stories in a mellow yet captivating way. Though most of the music he performed was unreleased, the crowd sang along beautifully to those tracks that were released. If you love artists like Kevin Atwater and Clairo, you will absolutely love Jake Minch! I took in the rest of Jake’s set, mesmerized by his vocals. He soon said his thank yous and left the stage.

As time slowly passed, the anticipation built up through the crowd. I was particularly excited about this show since I’ve been a fan of the Brent projects since they first started. Before I knew it, the clock struck 9, and the lights dimmed as the band filed onto the stage, with fans’ cheers filling the room. Jeremy and Chelsea soon followed on stage and asked the crowd to watch a short, heartfelt video sharing Brent through the years. I thought this short video was the perfect touch, especially since this is the first time the pair is headlining a tour together. The duo opened with their song, “ashes & rust,” a song with the perfect amount of buildup to start the show. I was fully captivated by both the vocalists and the band on stage, consisting of violins, a cello, drummer, bass, and keyboard player.

With a crowd full of smiles and tears, the pair moved on to their song, “black & white,” a beautiful love song about a person putting color into your darkness. As the set continued, I took time to take every song and all the lyrics in truly. One thing about the Brent projects is that they have been something I’ve kept so close to my heart, finally having the opportunity to hear them live was a dream come true.

Something I thought was so beautiful about this set was everyone sitting down and simply admiring the music. Some people sang, others cried, but everybody came together to enjoy these incredible artists. The show continued and eventually got to the point where Jeremy and Chelsea each got to perform their solo songs off of the Brent projects. Chelsea performed some of my favorite tracks, specifically “the stars” while Jeremy sat down on the couch and admired the talent in front of him. Following Chelsea’s performance, Jeremy took his moment to perform his solo work. Something unique about attending this show was finally getting to hear “brooklyn boy” live for the first time ever in Brooklyn.

I took the rest of the night to fully take in and truly feel the music being played for me. Before I knew it, the pair thanked the band and was about to perform their final song, “this is how you fall in love.” Though all of their music has been super important to me, this track has impacted me so much through the years that finally hearing it live was magical. The crowd’s vocals blended beautifully with the performance, making it feel like a moment out of a movie. I feel this was the perfect song to end the night, fully tying the show together.

As somebody who has been listening to Brent for so long, I have to say this show is something you do not want to miss. Their studio recordings are special, but the live performance blows the studio recordings away. The strings and drums combined with their vocals created a magical atmosphere you can’t feel in their recordings. I highly suggest going to the Brent Forever tour if you have the opportunity; you will be blown away.
